Client required an immersive and interactive solution to educate students about the solar system, making it more engaging and accessible.

Developed an innovative VR experience that allows students to explore and learn about the solar system in a hands-on and immersive way with VR. This approach was designed to captivate and educate users by placing the solar system in the palm of their hands.

Technical Details

  • Environment Design:

– Designed and built immersive VR space to represent the entire solar system, planets, moons, and other celestial bodies.

– Developed realistic and interactive planet surfaces, complete with atmospheric effects for each planet.

  • Educational Content Creation:

– Conceptualized and implemented interactive educational modules, allowing users to learn about the solar system’s planets, their characteristics, and their positions in real-time.

– Modified detailed 3D models of celestial bodies using Blender, ensuring scientific accuracy and high visual fidelity.

  • Interactive Design:

– Developed interactive elements in UE5.3 that allow users to manipulate and explore the solar system in the palm of their hand, including rotating planets, zooming into surfaces, and adjusting orbital paths.

– An “Scale Comparison” feature where users can compare the sizes of planets and other celestial objects interactively can be implemented.

  • Narrative and User Experience Design:

– Crafted a guided tour narrative, providing users with a rich storytelling experience as they journey through the solar system.

– Implemented voiceover and text-based prompts to enhance the educational experience and guide users through the exploration.

  • Technical Implementation:

– Leveraged Unreal Engine 5.3 to achieve high-quality VR performance on both Meta Quest and PCVR platforms, ensuring smooth and immersive gameplay.

– Optimized VR interactions to ensure intuitive user experience, including hand-tracking and controller support for various VR platforms.
